The first stone
Built the way a cairn is built.
In the Victorian high country, walkers mark the way with cairns — stones balanced one on top of the other, each one added by someone who passed before. That's how we're building Solipse: this gathering is the first stone, laid by hand, and the eclipse retreats of 2027 and beyond stack on top of it.
Come place it with us.
The program
Three days, built around one sunrise.
The solstice arrives at exactly 7:50am on Tuesday 22 December — the moment the Southern Hemisphere tilts closest to the sun. Everything else moves slowly around it.

Tuesday22 Dec
The solstice ritual — 108 sun salutations
7:50am AEDT. As the longest day of the year begins, we greet it the way practitioners have for centuries: 108 rounds of surya namaskar, moving together as the light floods in. Go at your own pace — every round counts.
The rest of the day unwinds slowly: a long unhurried brunch, an afternoon to yourself, workshops for those who want them, and an easy evening practice under the late summer light.

Wednesday23 Dec
A final morning, then home
Closing practice, a farewell brunch, and departures from midday — home in time for the holidays, carrying the year's longest light with you.
The detailed schedule is confirmed with the venue. The solstice, and the 108, are fixed.
What's included

Why December, and why the solstice?
The gathering is built around the summer solstice — 7:50am AEDT on Tuesday 22 December 2026, the moment the Southern Hemisphere tilts closest to the sun and the longest day of the year begins. It's the bright mirror of the 2027 eclipse, and a fitting way to begin Solipse Yoga's gatherings.
Can I really do 108 sun salutations?
Yes — because you go at your own pace. The 108 is a shared rhythm, not a test: rest when you need to, rejoin when you're ready. Beginners finish it every year, everywhere it's practiced.
Do I need to be an experienced practitioner?
No experience needed. The practice meets you where you are — whether you're seasoned or simply curious.
Who's running it?
Ting and Aniel lead the gathering under the Solipse flag, joined by guest collaborators we'll introduce in the Journal as they come on board.
